FocusFlow is a productivity app for people with ADHD, autism, or executive dysfunction. It is not a medical product. It does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition. This page explains, in plain language, what the app stores, where it goes, and how to take it with you or delete it.
What we store in your account
Your email address and sign-in details; your display name; your onboarding answers (for example, what you find hard) and sensory settings; your tasks, steps, routines, daily plans, focus sessions, parked thoughts, and brain dumps; your reminder preferences; your time zone (read from your device so dates and reminders line up with your day); and whether AI features are on.
Onboarding answers and sensory settings can describe how your brain works, so we treat them as private. They are never shown to anyone else and are not used for advertising.
Where it is kept and who can see it
Account data is stored in a Supabase database. Every table uses row-level security, which means the database itself only returns rows that belong to the signed-in account. Other users cannot read your data. The website is hosted on Vercel.
We do not sell your data or use third-party analytics or tracking.
If something breaks while you are signed in, the app saves a short error report to your account so it can be fixed: the error message, which screen it happened on, the app version, and your device and browser type. It does not include your tasks or other text you typed. Error reports are deleted after 30 days.
If you subscribe to FocusFlow Plus in the Android app, Google Play handles the payment and RevenueCat (our subscription provider) tells us whether the subscription is active. We store only that status, when it ends, and which store it came from, linked to your account ID. We never see your card or payment details.
What stays on your device
A few things are kept only in your browser or the app on your phone: your latest energy check-in (it resets each day), your coach chat history, your last focus length, background sound choices, and, if you connect it, your Spotify sign-in. Signing out clears the private ones. You can clear the coach chat any time from More.
If you add a task or brain dump while offline, it waits on your device and is sent to your account when you are back online. Screens you have opened are cached on the device so they still load without a connection.
AI features
AI features are off until you turn them on in More → Settings → AI features. While they are off, the coach, brain dump sorting, task breakdown, “I’m stuck”, and natural-language task entry use simple built-in rules on our server, and nothing is sent to an AI provider.
When they are on, the text you enter in those features is passed to an AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate a reply. For the coach, this includes your open task titles, their time estimates, priority, energy level, due dates, and your current check-in. You can turn AI features off again at any time.
OpenAI’s API terms say data sent through the API is not used to train their models by default. Avoid putting anything in these features that you would not want an AI provider to process.
Other services
Google sign-in: if you choose it, Google shares your name and email with us to create your account.
Profile photo: if you add one, it's cropped and shrunk on your device first (which also removes location and camera details), then stored privately in Supabase Storage. Only you can see it. Removing it or deleting your account deletes the file.
Calendar import: if you add a Google, Outlook, or iCloud calendar link, our server downloads that calendar to show your events (title and time) next to your tasks. Only you can see the link and the imported events, FocusFlow never changes your calendar, and removing the calendar deletes its events from FocusFlow.
Spotify: if you connect it, playback is controlled through Spotify, and Spotify’s own privacy policy applies. Your Spotify sign-in is stored only on your device.
Notifications: while FocusFlow is open, reminders are created on your device. If you turn on When FocusFlow is closed in a browser, your browser gives us a delivery address, and reminders are sent through your browser’s push service (for example Google, Mozilla, or Apple). The reminder text is encrypted so only your device can read it. Sent reminders are logged in your account so none is sent twice. In the Android app, reminders are scheduled on the phone itself for the next week.
Ads in the Android app
Without FocusFlow Plus, the Android app may show one small banner ad on the More and Progress screens. Today, focus, coach, help, and other screens never show ads, and the website has none.
Ads are served by AppLovin. FocusFlow never sends AppLovin your account, email, tasks, or settings. The ads are not personalized: the app tells AppLovin you have not consented to personalized ads and opted out of the sale of personal information, and it does not let AppLovin read your device's advertising ID. To show an ad and prevent fraud, AppLovin still receives basic device and app information such as the phone model, app version, language, and IP address. See AppLovin's privacy policy.
Download or delete your data
In the app, go to More → Settings → Your data. Download my data gives you a file with everything in your account. Delete my account permanently removes your account and all of its data right away. It cannot be undone.
You can also do this from a web browser: sign in on this website, open More, and use the same buttons. You can delete individual tasks, parked thoughts, and brain dumps at any time.
Step-by-step instructions, including what to do if you can’t sign in: Delete your account.
Children
FocusFlow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
